AI Readiness Audit
Identify and fix technical issues that prevent AI systems from citing your content. While AI visibility can be unpredictable, the RAG process is consistent. Optimize your content for how AI actually processes it.
See the AI Readiness Audit in Action
Watch how to audit your pages across seven AI-visibility dimensions and identify exactly what's preventing AI systems from citing your content.

Optimize for How AI Actually Works
Building content for AI visibility can be frustrating because LLMs are non-deterministic. The same prompt generates different responses each time, but the RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) process is very consistent and well-known. Optimizing your content for the steps of this process has a significant and meaningful impact on your AI visibility.
Our readiness audit shows exactly how AI sees your page and highlights reasons you might not be cited due to technical issues. We're the only audit that shows you the 'best chunk' an LLM would select and identifies 'structural deserts'; parts of your page that can't be extracted or used by AI.
Seven Dimensions of AI Readiness
Every page is scored across seven key dimensions that influence whether AI systems can discover, understand, and cite your content.
Static Content Ratio
See how much content is visible without JavaScript. AI crawlers don't execute JavaScript — we show you exactly what AI sees versus what users see with side-by-side screenshots.

Citation Readiness
See the 'best chunk' an LLM would select for citation and identify 'structural deserts' — content gaps that can't be extracted. We analyze your content in 128-token windows exactly as ChatGPT processes it.

Plus five more dimensions
Structured Data
Verify the right JSON-LD schemas are present and complete for your page type. We check required and bonus schemas across homepage, product, informational, support, and careers pages.
Performance for AI
Measure how fast content is delivered to AI crawlers. ChatGPT has a 2-second limitation — if content can't be fetched within 2 seconds, it won't be included in citations.
E-E-A-T Signals
Check 14 core trust and authority signals at both brand and page level. Includes author attribution, external citations, freshness signals, and machine-readable dates.
Readability
Ensure content matches AI default writing styles. If your content is too complex or simple, AI will rewrite it, wasting your carefully crafted messaging.
Accessibility
Run focused accessibility checks that influence AI's ability to understand your content. Accessible pages use semantic HTML that also benefits AI interpretation.
Why Spyglasses AI Readiness Audit
Unique features you won't find in traditional SEO audit tools or competitor offerings.
Optimize for How AI Actually Works
While AI responses are non-deterministic, the RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) process is consistent and well-understood. Our audit shows exactly how AI sees your page and highlights technical issues that stop you from being cited.
Unique Chunk Analysis
See the 128-token 'best chunk' an LLM would select for citation, plus identify 'structural deserts' - content gaps that can't be extracted. No other audit tool provides this level of insight into AI content processing.
Static Content Rendering
Get side-by-side screenshots showing what AI crawlers see (no JavaScript) versus what users see (fully rendered). Instantly diagnose content visibility issues that prevent AI citation.
Comprehensive Site-Wide Analysis
Audit individual pages or entire sections of your site. Filter by page type, path patterns, or saved page groups. Get aggregate scores plus per-page breakdowns to prioritize optimization efforts.

Frequently Asked Questions
Learn more about how AI Readiness Audits work and how they can help optimize your content for AI citation.
What is an AI Readiness Audit?
An AI Readiness Audit crawls your website and scores each page across seven dimensions that influence whether AI systems can discover, understand, and cite your content. Unlike traditional SEO audits, it focuses specifically on how AI systems process and extract information from your pages.
How is this different from SEO audit tools?
SEO audit tools like Screaming Frog and Sitebulb focus on traditional search engine optimization factors. Our AI Readiness Audit includes unique checks like static content rendering (showing what AI sees without JavaScript), 128-token chunk analysis (showing the exact 'best chunk' an LLM would select), and structural desert mapping—features that don't exist in traditional SEO tools.
What are the seven dimensions you check?
We check: (1) Static Content Ratio: How much content is visible without JavaScript, (2) Citation Readiness: How well content is structured for AI citation with chunk analysis, (3) Structured Data: Presence and completeness of JSON-LD schemas, (4) Performance for AI: Delivery speed to AI crawlers, (5) E-E-A-T Signals: Trust and authority indicators, (6) Readability: Whether content matches AI writing styles, and (7) Accessibility: Semantic HTML and accessibility standards. Learn more in our [documentation](/docs/dashboards/ai-readiness-audit).
Why does static content ratio matter?
When AI assistants like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google's Gemini cite your page during a chat they don't use JavaScript. If your content is rendered client-side (React, Vue, SPAs), these crawlers may see little or no content. Our audit compares static HTML content against fully rendered content and provides side-by-side screenshots so you can see exactly what AI sees versus what users see.
What is a 'structural desert'?
A structural desert is a span of content with no headings, list items, paragraph breaks, or other structural markers. When AI systems process content in 128-token windows, deserts mean multiple consecutive windows have no structural context. This means the content is not likely to be cited. Our audit identifies these deserts and shows you exactly where they occur in your content. Learn more in our [documentation](/docs/dashboards/ai-readiness-audit#citation-readiness).
How does this relate to AI Visibility Reports?
AI Visibility Reports show how often your brand appears in AI responses and what grounding searches AI runs. AI Readiness Audits identify and fix technical issues that might cause your content to not be selected in those grounding searches. They're complementary: use Visibility Reports to measure visibility, and Readiness Audits to optimize for it.
How much does an audit cost?
Pay-as-you-go customers are charged 1 credit per 50 pages (minimum 1 credit per audit). Agency Core plans include 5,000 pages per month, and Agency Pro plans include 15,000 pages per month. See our [pricing page](/pricing) for details.
Can I audit specific sections of my site?
Yes. You can filter pages by type (homepage, product, informational, etc.), by path patterns (e.g., `/blog*` or `/products/*`), or select from saved page groups. This lets you focus audits on specific sections and track improvements over time.
What page types do you support?
We detect and score pages across multiple intents: Homepage, Product, Informational, Technical, Support, Careers, Legal, and Authentication pages. Some dimensions (like Readability) are only applicable to certain page types, and the audit automatically adjusts scoring accordingly.
How do I interpret the scores?
Each dimension receives a score from 0-100: Green (70-100) indicates good optimization, Yellow (40-69) suggests areas for improvement, and Red (0-39) indicates critical issues. The overall page score is a weighted average of all applicable dimensions. See our [documentation](/docs/dashboards/ai-readiness-audit) for detailed scoring methodology.
Can I export audit results?
Yes, you can export audit results as CSV files. The export includes summary statistics, per-page scores, and all dimension breakdowns. This makes it easy to share results with your team or track improvements over time.
How often should I run an audit?
Run your first audit to establish a baseline across your site. After making optimizations, re-run audits on affected sections to measure improvements. Many teams audit monthly or quarterly, or after major site changes. Saved page groups make it easy to re-audit the same sections consistently.
